260g gram flour

¼ tsp bicarbonate of soda

1 1/2 tsp ground cumin

1 ½ tsp ground coriander

¼ tsp chilli powder

½ garlic clove, finely grated

Salt & black pepper

4 onions, roughly chopped

300ml warm water

Vegetable oil, to fry

500g Tims Dairy Greek-style Natural yogurt 

1 cucumber, coarsely grated and the water wrung out of it using a tea towel



Fill a wok/pan a third of the way full and set over a medium heat.

Combine all the ingredients for the bhajis bar the onions in a large bowl.

Add the onions to the batter mix and stir. Once the oil is hot, take tablespoonfuls of bhaji mixture and place them in the hot oil.

Fry for 2 minutes, turn over, and then fry for another 3 minutes. You want them to be golden brown.

Remove the bhajis using a slotted spoon and place them on a plate lined with kitchen towel to absorb any excess grease.

Make the raita by combining the yogurt with the cucumber and a generous sprinkling of salt and pepper.
