Burn's Night Crispy Neeps & Tatties - Tims Dairy

Serves 2 but you can just increase quantities for greater numbers.


  • 2 x medium to large mashing potatoes (approx 350g) – sweet potatoes optional alternative
  • 2 x turnips
  • 2 large knobs of butter
  • 2 tbsp Tims Dairy Greek Style Natural Yogurt – plus extra to serve
  • A handful of flat leaf parsley finely chopped
  • salt & pepper


Boil and the potatoes and turnips until soft. Add 1 knob of butter and the 2 tbsp of yogurt, with some salt and pepper and mash until soft and creamy. Stir in the chopped parsley, reserving a little for the garnish, then leave the mixture to cool. Shape the mix into round patties. Heat the remaining knob of butter then fry each patty until crisp and golden brown on both sides.

Garnish with a generous dollop of yogurt topped with some fresh parsley and a further sprinkling of black pepper.
