Spicy Tuna Sushi Roll With Yogurt - Tims Dairy

What you’ll need:

Base:

To top:

  • Dried Onions
  • Sriracha
  • Soy Sauce
  • Yogurt
  • Caviar

How to do it:

  1. Add your sushi rice to a large bowl, wash and drain and repeat until the water is clear

2. Once clear, soak the sushi rice for 20 minutes in cold water

3. Add the washed sushi rice to a sauce pan and add 450ml of water. Turn the heat on high until boiling and then turn down to a simmer for 10 minutes

4. Place a lid on the saucepan and turn off the heat

5. After 10 minutes, add the sushi rice vinegar and mix into the rice well

6. Transfer the contents a large baking tray and spread out to allow the rice to cool down

7. In a bowl, add the yogurt and sriracha and mix well

8. Dice your tuna and spring onions into small chunks and add to the yogurt mix and combine

9. Once the rice has cooled down, take out a nori sheet, wet your hands and spread a layer of rice onto the nori sheet

10. Sprinkle some sesame and poppy seeds onto the rice, flip the sheet over onto your bamboo roller so the rice is face down

11. Tip, cover your bamboo rolling sheet with cling film to stop the rice from sticking

12. Now add your tuna mix in a line along with a long slice of cucumber

13. Start to roll your sushi, making sure to squeeze while rolling to ensure the roll doesn’t fall apart

14. With a sharp wet knife, slice your roll into sushi pieces

15. Plate up, and don’t forget the garnish! Add dried onions, sriracha, a dollop of yogurt and sriracha and some caviar

16. Best served with soy sauce
