Don’t you just love it when you can feed a family of 4 for next to nothing? This meal came in at approximately 60p a person and was thoroughly enjoyed by all.  To add to the list of pro’s it was made with very few ingredients and prepared in under 15 minutes.

Serves 4.


  • 150g dried pasta
  • 3 cloves of garlic crushed
  • 2 shallots finely chopped
  • 250g mushrooms sliced
  • 25g Parmesan cheese
  • 2 heaped tablespoons Tims Dairy Greek Style Natural Yogurt or creme fresh


Cook the pasta in a pan of boiling salted water according to the packet instructions, then drain, reserving a mugful of cooking water. Meanwhile, sauté the shallots in olive oil for 5 minutes. Add the garlic and stir. Now add the mushrooms. Season with sea salt and pepper, and cook for roughly 5 minutes, stirring regularly.

Toss the drained pasta into the mushroom pan with a splash of the reserved cooking water. Grate in most of the Parmesan and stir in the yogurt gently heat and finish with a final grating of Parmesan.
