PRESS RELEASE – 6th August 2012

Following on from success at the Awards last year Tims Dairy Limited is proud and thrilled to have won a one-star Gold Great Taste Award 2012 for its super delicious and unique 175g pot of Bio-Live Greek Style Yogurt with Blackcurrants. Tims Dairy Limited which is based in Chalfont St Peter and is still owned and run by the Timotheou family has a fabulous 60 year heritage of making authentic Greek Style Yogurts.

Managing Director Chris Timotheou is looking forward to displaying the coveted one-star Gold Great Taste Award logo on the product after receiving it. Judged by a panel of 350 of the nation’s most discerning and knowledgeable food experts over a 45 day period the competition is of high quality and to achieve Gold in Great Taste is a very significant achievement for any food or drink producer. This year a total of 8,807 different food and drink products were entered.

Tims Dairy’s Greek style Bio-Live Greek Style Yogurt with Blackcurrants is a unique offering on the market and is packed with succulent fruit. It perfectly balances the acidity of the fruit with creamy yogurt to provide a wonderful taste sensation that you will want to have again and again.

They specialise in making yogurts with great taste using natural ingredients and fresh British milk in full support of British farmers. Their range includes Greek style yogurt, wholemilk yogurt and low fat yogurt; they also produce soured cream and crème fraiche. For many years their range was supplied to foodservice customers and it was in response to consumers who had tasted their yogurt in hotels, schools and hospitals, that, in 2009, they developed and launched a superb range for retail that includes the winning 175g Greek Style Yogurt with Blackcurrants. The eye-catching pots are now available in specialist stockists, farm shops, delis, foodhalls, Whole Foods Market, Ocado and selected Waitrose stores.

Chris Timotheou, Managing Director, said: “We are delighted with this award. Winning Great Taste Awards recognizes the hard work, passion and dedication that go into producing our yogurt. We believe in making yogurt with great taste using the best, freshest ingredients and quality is a top priority for our production team at the Dairy in Buckinghamshire.”

The Great Taste Awards, organised by the Guild of Fine Food, are now in their 19th year and going from strength to strength.  Their judging standards are the most rigorous in the UK and they only endorse products of the highest quality.
